This course provides a practice-driven introduction to design and expression with code. Students will learn elemental procedural programming skills and gain experience with software design and interactive art by developing a portfolio of digital projects of increasing complexity and scale. It is designed to establish fundamental cross-disciplinary intuition and knowledge for future use in the CoDES program as well as to provide a vector of artistic fulfillment. The course uses Processing and the Java programming language to facilitate the creation of visual, interactive digital sketches. |
