This course is for students to serve as Teaching Fellows for a course with the National Education Opportunity Network (neonopportunity.org), which provides college courses to Title I and Title I-eligible high schools nationwide. Please inquire with the instructor for information on course topics available this semester. Students will: -Host weekly 45-minute synchronous discussion sessions with 15-25 high school scholars via Zoom to enhance their engagement with course content, expose them to college-level seminar-style discussions, and help improve their analytical and metacognitive skills. -Evaluate and provide feedback on student work. Specific time assignments for sessions with high school students and required Teaching Fellow group meetings will be scheduled at the same time every week based on availability. This course counts for 10 hours toward the 20-hour practicum requirement in the EDST major or minor. The other 10 hours can be completed by repeating this class or through an independent practicum. |
