In this course we will follow Michel Foucault's trajectory and methodologies throughout his career from his early work on archeology of knowledge to his genealogical history of the present, focus on bio-power, and then governmentality. Part intellectual history and part theory/method of history, the course will take up Foucault's work within the context of his own time but also as a dynamic set of tools for critique, political activism, and history in the 21st century. |
