This course explores the experiences of journalists in covering crisis, war, and conflict. It examines their ability to continue reporting on human rights issues and expose war crimes against humanity. Together, we will learn about the challenges and risks facing journalists in their written, audio, visual, and electronic work, as well as the forms of restrictions imposed on journalists in various countries. This class will draw on live testimonies, documentation, and new stories from Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, and Russia.
